We receive tech calls regarding the right front engine mount on 2006-2011 Honda Civic applications. The right front mount for the two different body styles of this vehicle look very similar, but upon closer inspection there are differences which will cause mounting issues if the wrong part is installed.

Except for the right front mount, all of the other engine mounts for the 2006 – 2011 Honda Civic are the same.

In order to identify the proper mount for 2006-2011 Honda Civic applications, make sure to verify if the vehicle is a “Coupe” or “Sedan”, as they require different part numbers.

Prior to the 1980’s, most vehicles were rear wheel drive platforms that required only a simple rubber to metal bonded mount design to help dampen driveline torque. When transverse mounted engines first came to the market in the early 1980’s, technological advancements were made in the mount design to handle increased engine vibration from the change in engine positioning.

To address the vibration issues, GM was the first to create a mount with an internal chamber filled with hydraulic fluid to help dampen the increased engine vibration.

Selling center support bearings used to be a lot easier when you could sell by bearing size alone. As drivelines have changed and mounting brackets have changed, there are many more frame configurations that you need to be aware of when selling center supports. Using the part numbers below as an example, while all have the same bearing inside diameter (I.D.) all also have different bearing center lines and frames.

It has come to our attention that the packaging of Anchor part numbers 6061 and 6062 is causing confusion since the parts are so similar. While the parts may look identical, the inside bearing on 6061 is 1.257” and the inside bearing diameter on 6062 is 1.181”.

6061 inside bearing diameter = 1.257”
6062 inside bearing diameter = 1.181”

Please physically check your inventory to confirm that the parts are packaged correctly per the inside diameter.
